An established supplier in the Fresh produce industry are looking for a Buyer to join the team due to exciting new growth! An ideal opportunity for someone with a strong background in Fresh Produce - looking for the next chapter in their career - to grow alongside an ambitious business going from strength to strength!
About the Role:
As Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining long-term relationships with growers to ensure continuity and quality of supply. Working closely with the Procurement Managers, Account Managers, Transport Team, and senior leadership, you'll negotiate contracts, manage grower expectations, and support the development of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure the best quality product at the right price, in line with customer requirements
- Develop, negotiate, and maintain grower contracts
- Manage quality feedback and grower relationships professionally
- Carry out regular farm visits and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation
- Monitor financial and payment terms in collaboration with the accounts team
- Review grower performance annually
- Liaise with transport teams to ensure timely and cost-effective collection
About You:
- Proven experience in a high-volume buying, trading, or procurement role
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
- Previous experience in the fresh produce sector is essential
