We are seeking a confident and customer-focused Duty Manager to lead day-to-day hospitality operations across our thriving Exeter Airport outlets - Cove, Coastline, Tor Bar, and Moorland Kitchen. This is a diverse and fast-paced role, where you'll be hands-on in managing service delivery, food safety, stock control, staff performance, and customer satisfaction. You'll ensure our venues are welcoming, efficient, and compliant - and that every customer leaves happy.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing front-of-house service and team performance during your shifts
- Supporting the Customer Services Manager with recruitment, training, and rostering
- Monitoring food safety, stock rotation, and hygiene standards
- Driving spend-per-head, customer satisfaction, and repeat visits
- Liaising with suppliers and contractors to maintain equipment and service standards
- Leading by example in ensuring every shift runs smoothly, safely, and profitably
About You
You'll have a passion for hospitality and proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy food and drink environment. You'll also bring:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Great organisational abilities and attention to detail
- A proactive, problem-solving approach
- Confidence in maintaining compliance with food, health & safety regulations
- Availability for evening and weekend work as standard
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Hospitality management or team leadership experience
- Comfortable with basic financial and administrative processes
- Confident using IT systems (Word, Excel, Email)
- Food Hygiene level 2
Desirable:
- H&S qualification
- First Aid at Work
