Manufacturing Engineer Oldbury Double Day Shift Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work for our client at that facility in Oldbury, the role will be working within their dynamic team and will be involved in development and implementation of new and improved manufacturing processes, procedures and equipment. The role will also require you to supervise a small team of Operatives, monitor their skills, support with training where necessary and ensure their focus is on supplying customer orders to the required Quality level and in time to the Production Plan. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Plan, co-ordinate, lead and participate in various multi-disciplined teams in addressing and fulfilling Company objectives associated with the Machine Shop. Responsible for volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety and delivery commitments Run trials for new products Ensure that equipment and machinery are kept in good running order Recommend new equipment when and where necessary Use all Machine Shop machinery/equipment proficiently in conjunction with the Engineering Manager Organise and manage a team effectively to ensure the production plan is adhered to at all times Monitor the skills of the Team and train your team where necessary. Liaise with other Departmental Managers to ensure that all client deadlines are met in a timely manner Champion continuous improvement programs within the department · Work independently and interdependently within various inter-departmental teams. Follow the training you receive when using any work items given to you Take reasonable care of your own and other people’s health and safety Co-operate with your employer on health and safety Tell someone (supervisor, or health and safety representative) if you think the work or inadequate precautions are putting anyone’s health and safety at serious risk Support the company with environmental initiatives and any compliance issues Minimum Qualifications A minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics, alongside an HNC in Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in a Machining facility, with a preference for those familiar with the steel industry. Proficiency in CNC programming, especially in FANUC and Siemens controls. Exceptional leadership skills, capable of motivating and training a team to meet production and quality targets. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage tasks at all levels effectively.
