About the Role: As Head of Intellectual Property, the candidate is expected to own and lead the global IP strategy, covering trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and domain management; safeguard brand equity, prevent infringements, and explore opportunities to monetize IP assets; and provide strategic advice to leadership on risk management, oversee external counsel, and implement an enforcement program that supports the company’s rapid international growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute global IP strategy aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Direct and perform all IP-related activities, including trademarks, patents, designs, and domains; ensure timely registration, prosecution, and renewal.
  • Lead enforcement programs, including opposition, cancellation, litigation, anti-piracy, and anti-phishing actions.
  • Manage the worldwide IP portfolio using IP management software; maintain audit-ready records and cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate cross-border disputes with outside counsel; control litigation budgets and settlement strategies.
  • Advise product, marketing, and M&A teams on IP clearance, licensing, and contractual IP clauses.
  • Implement brand protection technologies such as takedown tools and monitoring platforms, and measure return on investment.
  • Develop and mentor the IP team; set objectives, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Educate internal stakeholders through training on brand usage, open-source compliance, and invention disclosure processes.

Requirements:

  • Licensed lawyer with 8+ years focused on trademarks, patents, and enforcement.
  • 5+ years running IP portfolios for multinational tech or gaming companies.
  • Extensive practice before WIPO and major IP offices (EUIPO, USPTO, UKIPO, INPI, etc.).
  • Record of successful cross-border litigation, oppositions, and settlements.
  • Familiarity with digital brand-protection tools and anti-phishing workflows.
  • Strong commercial acumen; able to balance protection with go-to-market speed.
  • Excellent English drafting and negotiation skills; additional languages advantageous.
