I have a new opportunity for an experienced project manager to join a reputable housing business with ambitions to deliver 250 - 300 quality homes and communities per year across Cornwall. Reporting to the head of department, you will take the lead on managing up to 3 projects at varying stages, from design through to completion and defects, ensuring homes are built to a high-quality standard, health and safety requirements, within budget and timescale, achieving excellent customer feedback and satisfaction.

You will be accountable for detailed design, procurement, and construction whilst supporting through pre-planning, and fully from post-planning to completion and defects. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the budget, timeline, and scope. You will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering residential projects, strong section agreement knowledge, 278, 38 and 104, monthly financial reporting, reporting on programme updates, and up-to-date building regulation knowledge including BNG.

Skills and attributes needed:

  • Proven background in the residential sector in a similar role
  • Accustomed to running/managing major projects
  • Full project life cycle experience including: development, design, logistics procurement, manufacture & assembly, commissioning and handover
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Accustomed to liaising with external and internal contacts
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Team player with a ‘can do attitude’ and desire to succeed
  • Commercial awareness
  • Financial awareness
  • Building Regs (BNG)
  • Contract management and negotiation
  • Strong business acumen in project planning and management
  • Degree within construction and professional membership is desirable
  • Ideally you have worked on client side - employers agent or consultancy

A flexible employer who are able to offer home working, you will spend time in the office, on site and at home, attending meetings as and when required, in a desirable office location in Cornwall. Backgrounds working for employers agents or housing associations would be preferable, but open to depending on skill set and capabilities. A largely residential background is required but will also consider dual experience in housing and commercial!
