Amazon is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive innovative partnerships in the financial services sector. Amazon Payment Products creates and manages a global portfolio of products, including co-branded credit cards, instalment financing, third-party point redemptions, and gift cards. We aim to expand our portfolio to serve customers with more differentiated products across more countries through partnerships in the financial services industry.
The Business Development Manager will identify, structure, and negotiate strategic partnerships on behalf of Amazon Payment Products in Europe. Responsibilities include working with in-country teams and external partners to design products and negotiate partnership agreements with financial services partners. This role involves managing relationships and negotiations that add value to Amazon and its customers, representing Amazon externally. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to execute a multi-country, multi-product roadmap. Deep understanding of customer needs, local practices, and product capabilities is essential to structure and negotiate partnerships that benefit customers, partners, and Amazon. We seek an analytical, strategic thinker passionate about Amazonβs Customer Obsession. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams, and excels in clear communication. Negotiation skills and understanding multi-party financial structures are critical.
Key job responsibilities
- Driving the strategic development process to execute on a multi-country, multi-product financial services roadmap, collaborating with internal stakeholders from Product, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Tax, Accounting, and senior management across countries.
- Supporting internal assessment of operational, financial, and customer experience trade-offs in product development and partnership decisions.
- Communicating the product and partnership vision to stakeholders and influencing cross-functional teams to invest and execute on that vision.
- Understanding financial, contractual, and technical considerations for each product and partnership.
- Creating mechanisms to enable data-driven decisions, maintaining process discipline across teams.
- Developing best practices to improve product development and negotiation processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to distill complex, ambiguous information into clear, analytical frameworks for decision-making, considering long-term and short-term benefits.
- Ability to build and maintain trust with stakeholders from multiple functions, companies, and cultures.
- Experience in financial services, strategy consulting, or technology sectors.
