This is an exciting opportunity to manage a brand-new Costa Coffee opening in the Atrium of QE Hospital, launching in August. As ISS’s first fully franchised Costa Coffee, the focus is on delivering not just exceptional standards, but genuine hospitality that reflects the unique hospital setting.
This isn’t just another coffee shop—it’s a moment of comfort for a loved one visiting a patient, a well-earned break for a busy nurse, or a small act of normality in a challenging day. We’re looking for a Coffee Shop Manager who understands the emotional impact of thoughtful, heartfelt service and who is passionate about creating a welcoming environment that goes beyond the transactional to offer a meaningful experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support retail and patient catering teams, ensuring safe and effective service aligned with company policies.
- Oversee all catering and retail operations across the hospital site.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams, Trust contacts, and external partners.
- Set and manage objectives in line with contract goals, contributing to service performance.
- Plan and develop catering offers in collaboration with ISS subject matter experts.
- Ensure compliance with Hospital Food Review (2021) guidance and safe food delivery standards.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic environment in line with food safety and health regulations.
- Semi-senior level experience in a Costa store with knowledge of brand standards.
- Proven ability to manage large teams effectively.
- Experience overseeing a £35K+ retail operation.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and compliance.
- Confident in maintaining brand consistency and operational excellence.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Able to drive performance and uphold service quality.
