Join a unique company that combines the excitement of working in a high-growth tech startup with the fulfilment of creating life-changing social impact. At Beam, you get to do work that really matters. We’re solving the world’s toughest social problems. And we’re growing fast.

About the role: We’re looking for a curious, people-focused, and detail-loving People Operations Partner to join our People team. You’ll be the driving force behind the smooth operation of our People experience, ensuring our systems, processes, and policies not only function effectively but are also easy to access. From benefits, HRIS, to compliance, you’ll be hands-on in shaping the way we support our incredible people.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone passionate about making the "people stuff" feel seamless and meaningful. You’ll help design and deliver the kind of employee experience that makes people feel proud to work here. You’ll also have the chance to stretch into more strategic areas, shaping how we scale our People Operations as we grow. And if you’re ambitious, there’s a clear path here - from People Operations Partner to Manager, and then Lead, gaining more strategy, ownership, and influence along the way.

You’ll be:

  • Championing Employee Experience & Engagement: You’ll own the behind-the-scenes magic of engagement surveys—from design and analysis to sharing insights. You’ll also conduct exit interviews to turn feedback into meaningful action, fostering inclusive, values-driven experiences for all.
  • Providing Employee Relations Support: You’ll partner with managers to handle performance conversations, sick leave, and absence processes with empathy and clarity. This includes leading probation management, iterating performance and promotion frameworks, and owning documentation for key employee milestones and ad hoc queries.
  • Optimising Benefits Programs: You’ll manage the day-to-day running of our current benefits schemes and oversee relationships with partners. A key part of your role will be sourcing new and exciting benefits to set us apart.
  • Driving HRIS & Data Excellence: You’ll strategically manage our HRIS (HiBob) with the People Associate to ensure accuracy and usefulness. You’ll build insightful dashboards and reports for data-driven decisions across DEI, talent, and KPIs, and collaborate with Finance for seamless payroll.
  • Ensuring Robust Compliance & Policy: You’ll keep a sharp eye on employment legislation to proactively develop clear, simple, and people-first policies that keep us ahead. You’ll own and update our people policies, H&S policies, and internal People info hubs, providing essential support for legal compliance.
  • Shaping People Ops Strategy & Growth: You’ll work closely with the Head of People to scale our people practices as the team grows, spotting inefficiencies, leading improvements, and collaborating with Finance on payroll and compensation.

You are:

  • People Ops Expert: with an impressive background in fast-moving, people-focused HR, you are deeply committed to a human-centred approach.
  • UK Employment Law Navigator: you know your way around UK employment law (ideally CIPD L5 qualified), applying that expertise to every decision.
  • Operational Wizz: super-organised with a sharp eye for detail, you love improving processes and making things run seamlessly.
  • Data-Driven System Pro: confident with HR systems like HiBob (or similar), you’re adept at using data to drive intelligent decisions.
  • Agile Juggler: you effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, even when busy, without dropping the ball.
  • Collaborative Communicator: empathetic, clear, and able to build strong relationships, you’re a truly great communicator across all teams.
  • Ambitious: keen to grow, you are excited by the prospect of taking on more ownership and contributing strategically.

Our benefits:

  • £45k-55k (dependent on experience - we’ll have an open discussion).
  • Generous EMI-qualifying share options.
  • Access to therapy, coaching, classes & content - powered by Oliva.
  • 1:1 workplace coaching with More Happi.
  • Your own financial well-being coach, through Bippit.
  • Generous Holiday - 25 days plus 3 additional days over the Christmas period + bank holidays.
  • Work remotely up to 6 weeks a year.
  • Eligible for 6 weeks sabbatical after 3 years in service.
  • Nursery scheme through Gogeta.
  • Healthcare cover through Benenden Health.
  • Enhanced parental leave: Primary Caregiver leave 18 weeks and Secondary Caregiver leave 4 weeks.
  • £200 WellBeam budget for activities enhancing wellbeing and professional development.
  • Regular team talks from leading UK tech entrepreneurs.
  • Annual membership to Shoreditch Exchange gym.
  • Pension scheme where we contribute 3% of your salary and you contribute 5%.
  • Free subscription to Calm meditation app.
  • Discounted bike and accessories with Cyclescheme, and tech products with Techscheme.
