About the job
To drive OTMs including the Robel 69.70/4-UK Mobile Maintenance System (MMS) herein defined as ‘MMT’ but referred to as OTM, on Network Rail infrastructure, delivering them reliably to worksites and stabling locations in a timely and safe manner. To operate OTMs on Network Rail worksites, delivering the required work in a safe and effective manner, conforming to contract specification and to provide the first level response to any machine failures, and ensuring a high level of cleanliness, reliability and performance is achieved.
Responsibilities
- To ensure that all contract, technical and administrative instructions are implemented.
- Carry out daily checks and servicing in accordance with the laid down procedures.
- Carry out internal checks and inspections as directed including Safety inspections.
- Accurate and prompt reporting of all faults in accordance with company procedures.
- Liaise with the Deputy Head of UK Contracted Services to ensure you fully comply with current Driver Standards regulations.
- Ensure that all OTMs are kept in an exceptionally clean and respectable condition both inside and out, whilst ensuring an adequate on-board welfare material and supplies to facilitate the highest standards of welfare.
- Collaborate effectively with and respond to the needs of the Network Rail MMT Supervisors whilst working as an integral part of the NR delivery team.
- The driver is required to assist and participate with MMT output as required and work without boundaries as part of the wider Network Rail MMT delivery team.
- Ensure that all company and Network Rail daily work returns, forms and processes are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Identify any potential innovative procedure or process that could be developed and adopted to improve OTM performance, output or delivery quality to provide a world class service to our customers.
- Through collaboration with the MMT Operations Manager work towards eliminating the accidental damage to infrastructure when operating OTM’s, any processes which may aid or improve the utilization of the MMT fleet to maximum effect.
- Report to Harsco Control as required including for accidents, incidents, emergencies or operational issues, booking on/off duty, notification of exceedance etc.
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
