We are looking for a Manager to join Morningstar’s Enterprise Risk Management team. We are an agile global team, looking for someone who has a real passion for risk management, combining technical acumen with pragmatic strategic logic to support a varied financial services business who doesn’t want cookie cutter support. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the business to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks that could impact the company’s ability to achieve its objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Head of ERM in developing and executing the Group’s ERM strategy.
  • Managing the full ERM process for subsidiaries, as required, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serving as a technical escalation point for complex risk-related issues.
  • Collaborating with risk owners across the organisation to drive meaningful risk discussions and provide constructive challenge.
  • Acting as the key liaison for designated functions and regions, offering expert advice on risk management practices.
  • Identifying and analysing risk trends, gaps, and incidents to drive continuous enhancement.
  • Developing and delivering comprehensive risk training and awareness initiatives across the Group.
  • Staying informed on the latest developments in ERM and key jurisdictional governance standards (e.g. UK, US, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the EU).
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to members of the wider team who are tasked with supporting risk management (e.g. Compliance Directors and Country Heads) as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in risk, governance, or technical advisory roles, ideally within a multinational organization or professional services firm.
  • Strong understanding of ERM frameworks, governance structures, and risk monitoring practices – coupled with a drive to query the status quo and innovate.
  • Experience with multinational ERM programs and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and synthesize information.
  • Risk Management, Chartered Accountant, or similar relevant qualifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously and deliver under tight deadlines across global teams and time zones.
