Roles and responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor – Newham

• Ensuring classwork is engaging for pupils by supervising them.
• Creating a learning environment where pupils are encouraged to interact.
• Assisting pupils in becoming more independent learners.
• Building trust with pupils and interacting with them accordingly.
• Providing assistance to pupils as needed.
• Establishing a classroom environment that is safe, supportive, and positive
• Ensure good behaviour is promoted, conflict and incidents are handled promptly in accordance with established policies, and pupil responsibility is encouraged.
• Collecting completed work and returning it to the teacher.
• Providing feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement and progress
• Reporting all concerns to the appropriate person in accordance with child protection, health, and confidentiality policies and procedures.
