Role Overview:
We are looking for a commercially savvy and results-driven Channel Manager - Grocery to lead their growth across key UK retail accounts including Tesco Marketplace, Morrisons, and ASDA as well as Boots/Superdrug. This role will own and execute the retail channel strategy, manage day-to-day account relationships, and drive profitable growth within the UK grocery and high street sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management & Commercial Growth
- Own and lead relationships with key retail partners.
- Develop and implement strategic joint business plans (JBPs) tailored to each retailer.
- Manage annual negotiations including range, pricing, promotional planning, and trading terms.
- Deliver on volume, revenue, and profit targets across all named accounts.
- Define and execute a growth roadmap for the grocery channel aligned to USN's commercial objectives.
- Identify and capitalise on new opportunities, including online grocery, seasonal campaigns, and in-store activation.
- Monitor performance, market share, and competitor activity, delivering actionable insights to the wider commercial and marketing teams.
- Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Category teams to ensure seamless execution of brand and channel plans.
- Provide forecasting inputs and ensure optimal stock availability and promotional alignment.
- Support new product launches, planograms, and innovation rollout within the retail channel.
- Track account performance vs KPIs and provide regular updates to the UK Sales Director.
- Use data and insights to influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Proven track record managing UK grocery or high street retail accounts within FMCG, ideally in sports nutrition, health, or food/beverage sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in JBPs, promotional planning, and account negotiation.
- Solid understanding of retail dynamics in Tesco, Boots, ASDA, etc.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in retailer portals, Nielsen/IRI/Kantar data, and Excel.
- Self-starter with a growth mindset, able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong relationship-building ability.
