Job Purpose: To deliver high-quality electrical design work for a range of engineering projects by integrating electrical design activities with other technical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce electrical design documentation using PDMS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office in line with project requirements. This includes:
  • Modelling of E&I equipment (cable trays, supports, lighting, etc.) in PDMS/E3D
  • Cable tray and cable routing drawings
  • Equipment layout drawings
  • Lighting calculations and layouts
  • Electrical cable schedules
  • Hazardous area schedules
  • Single line diagrams
  • Earthing drawings
  • Liaise with Electrical Engineers for the identification and selection of compliant electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate EC&I design with other departments including Process, Structural, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Review and validate vendor documentation.
  • Check and verify technical documents from other internal departments.
  • Contribute to and implement design procedures to ensure safe and cost-effective delivery of project requirements.
  • Undertake additional tasks within capabilities as directed by the EC&I Manager.
  • Required Skills & Competencies:

    • Proficiency in PDMS/E3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong understanding of electrical installation design and documentation.
    • Experience with E&I modelling including cable trays, supports, and lighting systems.
    • Ability to interpret and produce technical documents to high standards.
    • Strong collaboration skills across engineering disciplines.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation.
    • Adaptable to changing project requirements and technologies.
    • Able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • HNC in Electrical Engineering (minimum); HND or Degree preferred.
    • Proven experience in electrical design within an engineering environment.
    • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, PDMS/E3D modelling, and lighting calculations.
    • Willingness and ability to work abroad when required.
