Role overview: You will primarily be working on WMS and YMS projects. The Functional Consulting function plays a critical role throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring business requirements are accurately captured, translated into system configurations, and successfully delivered. Functional Consultants engage early in the Design phase, conducting Current State Assessments and facilitating Future State Design Workshops to align system capabilities with customer needs. They help define and validate the solution through Proof of Concept activities and provide Product Training to ensure stakeholders understand system functionality. If gaps are identified they define the requirements and liaise with the technical architecture and/or software engineering teams.

During the Build phase, Functional Consultants guide teams through Configuration Training, assist with Application Configuration, and collaborate on Test Script Creation to validate key processes. They remain actively involved in the Test phase, supporting User Acceptance Testing, helping clients draft Procedures, and preparing ‘train the trainer’ training materials to ensure business teams are equipped for solution adoption.

In the Deploy phase, Functional Consultants play a pivotal role in Workforce Preparation, ensuring end-users are confident in the system and processes. They play an active role in dry runs/dress rehearsals and assist the customer in cutting over for go live. They support the client during Go Live and Hypercare to provide support, resolve issues, and ensure a smooth transition to the new solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Gathering & Solution Design: Conduct Current State Assessments and lead Future State Design Workshops to gather business requirements and align solutions with customer needs.
  • Configuration & Testing Support: Guide teams through Configuration Training, assist with Application Configuration, and collaborate on Test Script Creation to validate key processes.
  • Gap Analysis & Liaison: Identify solution gaps, define detailed requirements, and liaise with the Technical Architecture and Software Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation, including Procedure Writing and ‘Train the Trainer’ materials to support successful solution adoption.
  • Deployment & Support: Lead Workforce Preparation, participate in Dry Runs/Dress Rehearsals, and provide ongoing support during Go Live and Hypercare to ensure a smooth transition.
