As the Vice President, Product Management, you will own and drive the end-to-end lifecycle of Ebooks and Commercials. This includes driving strategy, planning, and execution across the business unit.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Masters’ degree in related field
  • Minimum 12 years relevant work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a people manager

  • B2B experience
  • 3 years of leveraging data analysis to establish targets and identify trends
  • 3 years of financial modeling experience applying to forecasting and strategy setting

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Product Requirements: Coach team and drive/own development/agile process. Document clear and measurable product requirements and make trade-off recommendations between implementation and functionality. Create detailed product specifications using written requirements, business rules, process flows and use cases; incorporates user experience generated deliverables such as prototypes, wireframes and design and copy documents. Review, comment, and vet product requirements and specifications to ensure the spirit and intent of market requirements have been met.
  • Product Delivery: Drive the development and launch of new features and functionality through the entire product development lifecycle process from concept through implementation and release. Collaborate with design, content, engineering, QA, and operations to refine the product delivery process and deliver the highest level of quality.
  • Customer Research: Create overall strategy for collecting market and product data to drive definition of product roadmap, backlog, and priorities. Maintain regular contact with customers to stay current with needs and requirements. Drive internal program to track product analytics to inform priorities.
  • Product Roadmap: Define and own the product, build a long-term vision, establish a strategic roadmap, and deliver the product to the market, ensuring development efforts are aligned with BU strategy.
  • Product Strategy: Own and drive strategy across multiple product lines.
  • Business Plan/Product Profitability: Construct and justify business plans. Own topline for product lines and own business plan for BU approval. Review and understand business plan to make proper roadmap and prioritization decisions.
  • Programmatic Growth: Guide team in ownership of product profitability - developing strategy to drive growth programmatically in opportune or needed areas; positioning of new feature/function; and providing feedback into competitor feature/function.
  • Product Launch: Coach team in developing full launch package including pricing and product bundling options; targeted segments; competitive analysis; and providing feedback as necessary into feature/function built.
  • Market Requirements: Author market requirements/agile epics, bring them forward to grow product(s), and drive innovation across the portfolio and ProQuest.

About the Team

The EBooks Central team consists of product managers and product owners in a global setting, focused on innovation in commercial models and platform experience including generative AI.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time hybrid position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.
