The University of Reading’s School of Agriculture, Policy & Development seeks to appoint an Associate Professor in Agricultural Business Management within the Department of Agri-Food Economics & Marketing. The candidate will contribute to research and teaching in agribusiness management and related fields, with responsibilities in administration and outreach. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in financial business management, agribusiness enterprise, innovation adoption, or practical farm business decision making.
The university has launched AgriFood Futures, a strategic research initiative through 2050, backed by significant investment. Engagement with ongoing research and the ability to attract funding are important.
Qualifications and skills include:
- Ability to conduct high-quality academic research
- Significant research publications and impact
- Experience securing external research funding
- Understanding of business management principles, planning, and control methods
- Knowledge of farmer decision making and business planning amid emerging challenges and opportunities
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
- Experience in higher education teaching
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
- Fluent English and high literacy level
