Reed are working with a College in Northampton and are seeking a dedicated Skills Coach specialising in Plumbing and Heating to deliver Apprenticeships and other competency-based qualifications across various settings. This role is crucial in ensuring the achievement of agreed performance and quality targets while supporting the recruitment and development of apprentices through comprehensive training and assessment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide initial advice and guidance to applicants, ensuring integrity in recruitment and that learners are appropriately matched to courses.
- Assess applicants' prior learning to tailor programs effectively.
- Regularly visit apprentices at their workplaces to assess competence and provide support.
- Conduct progress reviews every twelve weeks with apprentices and employers, setting SMART targets aligned with their Training Plans.
- Deliver both one-on-one and group training sessions as required, and evaluate the effectiveness of these sessions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on electronic systems like Smartassessor to track learner progress.
- Collaborate with employers and colleagues to support apprentices' development and overcome barriers to progress.
- Provide timely feedback and support apprentices in preparation for their end-point assessments.
- Participate in quality assurance procedures.
