Associate Surveyor - Business Rates

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Our client, just a stone\’s throw from Holborn Station, has been a key player in the property game since 1820\’s and is now looking for a passionate Senior Surveyor to join their successful Business Rates team.

This individual will complement the existing experienced team and will be prepared to support, learn and develop as part of a natural succession. The job will include progressing tenant and owner/occupier “appeal” and consultancy work with direct responsibility for clients as well as working alongside a Partner and other senior individuals.

So what is on offer? A stimulating & varied workload as part of a dedicated rating team with close links with a variety of property disciplines and across a wide range of property sectors. As well as \’day to day\’ offices, shops and industrial you\’ll also be dealing with premier league football clubs, the British Library & a variety of Museums. No two days will be the same!

Salary

• £50,000 – £60,000 dependant on experience + Bonus.
• £3000 car allowance.
• Season ticket loan if required.

Main, Responsibilities, Accountabilities

• To support senior team members.

• To assist with casework but to grow, manage and progress own casework, under appropriate supervision.

• The preparation of valuation data (including analysis of rental, trade and build costs).

• Property inspection and measurement.

• Liaising with public bodies (Assessor/Valuation Officer/local billing authorities) and clients.

• Business Development with a view to increasing fee income.

• Attendance at client meetings, supervised as appropriate.

• Tribunal preparation/attendance as appropriate.

• Any additional duties as reasonably requested.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

• Able to listen, assimilate and act expeditiously.

• Team Player.

• Excellent IT skills.

• Self-motivated and proactive.

• Committed and organised.

• High service delivery skills.

• Full driving licence.

• Previous experience dealing with Billing Authorities and/or Scottish Assessors/Valuation Office Agency.
