If you love building relationships and sharing your expertise with others, you may be the perfect Sourcing and Meeting Manager for our team. In this role, you’ll guide clients through the venue and meeting sourcing process, communicating with internal and external partners, and leading the logistics of your project from end-to-end.
What You’ll Do
- Lead client calls to review and understand their meeting needs and ensure programs exceed requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and other package details with suppliers to support the client while meeting their savings and spend expectations.
- Conduct RFPs with hotels and suppliers to secure room blocks and other logistical needs.
- May participate in re-negotiations or cancellation negotiations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and files, collaborate with accounting to supervise billing, expenses, and savings negotiations.
- Evaluate and supervise program impact and outcomes, build a plan for continuous improvement.
- Proactively develop positive relationships with multiple members of the client team, suppliers, Amex GBT team and support departments.
- Act as a leader by promoting a positive team environment and assisting with onboarding new colleagues as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in meeting management, hotel procurement or equivalent.
- Cvent experience and CMP designation (preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of domestic destinations (international a plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent listening skills and passion for learning.
- Proactive in understanding client needs and enacting change with a consultative approach.
- Collaborative and passionate about building relationships.
- Available to travel.
