Principal Engineer Mine Waste (French/Spanish speaker)

About the role

The position offers the opportunity to:

1. Apply your experience and knowledge to the design of tailings and waste rock facilities.
2. Actively contribute to growing the size and developing the technical capability of the mine waste team.
3. Have a high degree of autonomy in managing your workload and receive recognition for your contributions to multi-disciplinary projects.
4. Help deliver projects and develop new business in Spain and Latin America.
5. Work with an experienced team to provide support as a mine waste specialist within a multi-disciplinary team for complex projects.
6. Develop relationships with existing clients and establish new ones to grow the business.
7. Establish and enhance your reputation among international professionals, with potential to become a recognized leader in mine waste within a diverse, international business.

About you:

If you believe this is your next career move, we would love to hear from you. You should be able to demonstrate:

1. A relevant Geotechnical qualification, either Chartered or eligible.
2. Specialism in Tailings Engineering with significant experience within a Geotechnical Consultancy.
3. Ability to lead projects from concept to implementation and advise clients.
4. Fluency in French or Spanish, with excellent report writing and communication skills in English.
5. Leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience managing geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
6. A full UK driving license.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

1. Knowledge of mining standards like GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA.
2. Experience in water management and water balance modeling.
3. Experience with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio or Plaxis.
4. Experience as Deputy Engineer of Record or Deputy Designer for tailings facilities.
