I am excited to be working with an amazing community organisation in search of an Interim Premises and Facilities Assistant. This is a full-time London based role for 3 – 4 months. As Premises and Facilities Assistant your role will be to support the maintenance, cleaning, security, heating, health and safety and other general site services covering all the organisations sites and support the management and development of all premises. This will include dealing with premises issues as they arise and supporting the maintenance plan to ensure that the premises are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of health and safety legislation. Key accountabilities: Oversight of unplanned work e.g., minor repairs, small scale painting/decorating, small deliveries. Liaise with the relevant colleagues with regard to queries concerning maintenance issues. To ensure that the cleaning of the premises is in accordance with agreed specifications. To support security arrangements of the premises including keyholding. Support the maintaining the premises in a safe and healthy condition, ensuring the maintenance of fire and other safety equipment and of first aid and emergency equipment, the safe storage of any potentially harmful materials, and that there is appropriate and effective signposting. To liaise with other service providers who use the premises to ensure that they are aware of and are complying with the centre’s H&S policies, and to clarify and agree which responsibilities are the centres, the providers, or joint. To carry out the daily/weekly checks required to ensure the safety of the people using the centre and keep appropriate records for auditing purposes. Skills and experience: Experience of providing general site services i.e., general maintenance, cleaning, plumbing, electrical building maintenance, heating systems and groundwork. Own transport to commute between sites (all being close to the Head office). Computer literate with good working knowledge of using the internet and Microsoft office suite. Enhanced DBS clearance and suitable Disqualification by Association record. An understanding that the needs of the children, parents and staff are of prime concern.
