Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage
Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage is a unique global partnership that brings together civil society organisations from around the world. Our mission is to end child marriage and enable girls to reach their full potential.
Founded in 2011, we work with over 1,500 member organisations in more than 100 countries, advocating for the rights of girls and promoting gender equality. We believe that every girl has the right to choose when and whom to marry, and that child marriage is a violation of human rights.
Our core activities include:
- Advocacy: We engage with governments and international bodies to influence policies and legislation that protect girls from child marriage.
- Awareness Raising: Through campaigns and educational initiatives, we raise awareness about the harmful effects of child marriage on girls and communities.
- Capacity Building: We provide training and resources to local organisations to strengthen their efforts in combating child marriage.
- Research: We conduct and support research to better understand the causes and consequences of child marriage, informing our strategies and interventions.
Our vision is a world where all girls can live free from the threat of child marriage, empowered to pursue their dreams and aspirations. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and community leaders, to create sustainable change.
Join us in our mission to end child marriage and ensure that every girl has the opportunity to thrive.
