The firm are looking for an employment solicitor to work as a consultant on a part time basis. They specialise in one sector (medical) but the work is split along conventional lines and specific sector experience is not necessary. Experience of dealing with work within the medical sector is very welcome. Any exposure to professional clients (GPs & dentists in particular) would be very useful. They would like to recruit an employment solicitor with experience in discrimination and representing respondent clients through to employment tribunal. People skills and client service an absolute priority. There is a requirement for a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, but they are looking ideally for someone who can give them the equivalent hours to 2-3 days per week (14-21 hours) and more if wanted. Good hourly rates paid – quite a bit above our usual ranges for this work. Although the firm operate remotely they do like to keep a team ethos going within the business, so they get all their consultants together for meetings and social events in the London or Surrey area. This is a good opportunity to add additional work to a portfolio if you have existing work elsewhere. Important to specify that this role requires a long term commitment in the sense that this is ongoing work, not a fixed term contract. Also need evidence of a strong background in a Legal 100 firm setting or equivalent in house or similar.
