Your Tasks:

  • As the Legal Director you will be the key contact for legal matters across OPEA incl. our small-medium scale partnering & transactions business
  • Act as a steering member of the OPEA Senior Management Team
  • Manage high and low performance to ensure the efficiency and quality of the team in a high performance environment
  • You act like an entrepreneur, i.e. responsibly, strategically and economically, in processes that affect the legal area itself, but also OPEA processes
  • Acting as a Senior Legal Counsel to the OPEA Board and business and coordinating the legal support of the business by your teams
  • Covering Board Office, Corporate & Partnering Law topics
  • Covering Regulatory and Real Estate law
  • Drafting and reviewing agreements, tenders, and other commercial documents
  • Offering legal counsel on regulatory compliance, licensing, and the development of new projects
  • Providing (standard) legal documents and contracts and negotiating contracts
  • Being responsible for legal support for claim management and Dispute Resolution
  • Managing external legal advisors; developing and applying efficient make-or-buy governance and cost control
  • Managing all legal processes, incl. reporting, related to the areas of responsibility in a smooth and efficient way
  • Managing our OPEA small-medium partnering and transactions business and for bigger transactions coordinating with RWE group M&A function
  • Hosting of OPEA-Compliance function
  • Close and trustful cooperation and alignment with other RWE stakeholders, such as the Group General Counsel, the RWE Chief Compliance Officer and other RWE Heads of Legal

Your Profile:

  • University degree in law with distinction
  • Several years of relevant working experience, ideally with a consulting background
  • Solid Corporate and Partnering Law experience, experience in Renewables and in project structuring
  • Strong leadership experience as well as organizational, analytical and standardization skills
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and of regulatory decision making procedures
  • Understanding of business model, regulatory and technical developments as well as potential implications
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
  • Good communications skills fluent in English (speaking and writing), German language skills are an advantage
