The role will involve approximately 60% Garment Technologist and 40% Product Developer tasks, with skills from both areas complementing each other. Position overview: This technical role reports to the Technical Manager and works within the Product Development team, collaborating closely with other departments. You will oversee the schedule and technical development of each collection from design to final sample sealing. Responsibilities: Liaise with all teams to ensure adherence to the critical path. Work with designers to ensure collections are realistic and achievable during sketching. Handle fabrics, ensuring suitability for designs, considering MOQ and lead times. Assist in creating tech packs with informed construction details. Select finishes, construction techniques, hardware, and fabrics for each piece. Proofread tech packs to address issues early. Maintain an overview of each collection for smooth process flow. Improve garment quality standards. Coordinate with offshore factories using internal systems for technical queries. Lead fit meetings for collections. Work with Junior Garment Technicians to provide fit feedback via various communication methods. Keep technical packs updated post-fittings and reviews. Monitor sampling schedules and visits to offshore factories. Skills and Experience: Proficient in Excel, basic Illustrator, adaptable to new systems. Confident in garment construction and pattern cutting techniques. Excellent fabric knowledge. Ability to enhance garment quality. Experience working under strict schedules and setting schedules for teams. Proofreading skills for technical packs. Problem-solving skills to address issues proactively.
