Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

Are you looking to start your career as a Quantity Surveyor?

We\’re seeking a motivated Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team. You will gain hands-on experience, receive training, and work on projects across the potable water, wastewater, and environmental sectors.

• £20k to £22k per annum

What you\’ll be doing

You will work alongside our Commercial Team and support the submission of tenders, assist with the company’s month-end accounting processes, and collaborate with our project delivery team and other departments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out thorough financial negotiations
• Forming close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Undertaking site visits to understand the full scope of the works
• Working with the project delivery team to formulate a realistic budget for schemes to maximize revenue, profit, and reputation
• Agreeing and submitting monthly interim valuations and final accounts to ensure timely processing of client invoicing and payment applications
• Identifying, preparing, submitting, and agreeing early warning notices and compensation events under NEC contract to account for changes to original quotations

Essential:

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English
• Good working knowledge of IT systems (Excel, Word, etc.)
• A keen interest in construction, infrastructure, or the water/environment sector
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
