Soldering Technician

Soldering TechnicianJoin a company as a Soldering Technician who are on a mission to become industry leaders in aerospace communication. They are looking to grow their team by adding a talented and motivated technician with experience in soldering techniques to be responsible for producing high-quality hardware builds. You will be hands-on with cutting-edge hardware and tackle real-world engineering challenges whilst working towards a shared goal of developing an antenna platform that solves power consumption and heat problems. The Soldering Technician will have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Responsibilities of the Soldering Technician (lab-based):Perform soldering at PCB level using both through-hole and surface mount component soldering techniques to IPC standardsRead and interpret schematics and work instructions to understand soldering requirements and specificationsPrepare components for PCBs for soldering, including cleaning, tinning, and flux application as necessaryInspect hardware builds for solder connection quality, completeness, and conformity to IPC standardsModify and rework faulty components as necessary through inspection and debug methodologySkills needed for this Soldering Technician:Experience of soldering electronic components – IPC qualifiedThrough-hole soldering and surface mount rework experience to IPC certificationHND/HNC in Electronic Engineering or equivalentProficient in Microsoft OfficeStrong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issuesDesirable: Hands-on semiconductor test experience and methodologies, including wafer probe, packing testing and Automates test systemsDesirable: Familiarity with test software programming languages (e.g. LabVIEW, Python)Added Benefits:33 Days holidays (inclusive of public holidays)5% employer pension contributionLife insurance & medical insurance provisionCycle to work schemeFlexible workingWhat’s next?If you’re a Soldering Technician looking for an exciting new challenge within a great company, then please apply today to learn more!For more information on this role or any of my others then please contact Zoe Cane at IC Resources to discuss.
