An opportunity for Health Care Support Workers has arisen within CTMUHB critical care department at Prince Charles Hospital. We are looking for reliable, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team. The role works under the direction of the registered nurse, ensuring high standards of care are provided and maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients on an acute critical care department caring for Level 3, 2 & 1 patients with complex health issues.
  • Provide assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing, mobilising, feeding, communication, and pressure area care.
  • Monitor supplies and stock rotation, assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and use own initiative.
  • Accept flexibility regarding shift patterns.

This is not fluency, just speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above, enabling basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The Health Board currently operates a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30‑minute or two 30‑minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
