A global Japanese trading company is currently recruiting an Energy Analyst to work in their London office. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting OCTG department managers in maintaining and enhancing contracts and relationships with existing long-term customers, alongside supporting sales, business operations, logistics, contract management, and execution.
The ideal candidate should have strong command in excel spreadsheets, analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and practical experience in contract management within the energy industry.
WORK TYPE: Hybrid work available (3 days in the office and 2 days working from home)

WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: £34,840 - 43,260 p.a., depending on experience

Energy Analyst Main Responsibilities:
- Manage contract execution & development activities
- Support development of Global Framework Agreement (GFA) strategy - include SCM, Energy Transition and digital
- Support management with both contract creation and execution, whilst putting in place procedures to effectively manage any changes or revisions that will occur during the contract life
- Maintain good communication with GFA management team & local SC SCM sites & GFA members to allow smooth contract management
- Support development & enhancing of digital tools
- Prepare quarterly contract analysis & dashboard reporting
- Support pre-negotiations & preparation of strategic material
- Attend meetings & capture key takeaways
- Support follow up of actions
- Analyse market data & support development of new markets & customers
- Work with customers to ensure all enquiries/tenders or potential orders are answered in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to manage orders
- Ensure all necessary internal controls are in place for the business
- Contract, order & shipment execution - SAP, iTIMS, shipping documents, credit applications
- Any other tasks assigned by the manager
Energy Analyst Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working directly in the energy industry (i.e. Oil and Gas)
- Good understanding of business processes (administrative, operational, corporate and IT system)
- Good understanding of procurement and logistics
- Experience International Business
- Experience in attending client meetings face to face or online
- Good understanding of QAQC, HSSE, Risk Management and Legal implications on business
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and negotiation with customers and suppliers
- Ability to complete complex tasks under time constraints
- Back-office knowledge required for international business (SAP, Excel, Word, basic understanding of accounting transactions)
- Good understanding of the Steel Industry
- Some Supply Chain Management experience
- Understanding and interest in digital working and energy transition trends
- Basic understanding of accounting processes
