The Role: We have a vacancy for a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our clients team in Goole. In this role you will provide the necessary support and assistance to ensure the laboratory can function in an effective and efficient manner. Following training, you will perform basic chemical and physical analysis of routine laboratory samples and progress to using more complex analytical instruments. You will evaluate test results against specification and escalate any deviation from expected quality. You will support the Laboratory / Shift Chemists in activities relating to the intake of raw materials and the dispatch of finished goods. The Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the role are: • Perform scheduled equipment calibration and basic maintenance. • Preparation of laboratory reagents and stock solutions. • In accordance with documented procedures, perform routine wet-chemical and instrumental analysis (techniques include FT-NIR, Karl Fischer, NMR, GC-FID), inputting results onto SAP. • Document and retained sample management. • General upkeep / housekeeping of the laboratory areas. • Become a member of the sensory panel (taste testing). The successful candidate will possess the following: • Degree level in Chemistry / Food Science with minimum of 6 months laboratory experience, OR HNC level in Chemistry / Food Science with a minimum 2 year’s relevant laboratory experience. • Good teamworking & communication skills. • A willingness to learn and the ability to work in a flexible and responsive manner. Working hours: Monday – Friday. 40hrs per week. Some flexibility with start and finish times (site based)
