Coke Handling Plant Operative

CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent

HOURS OF WORK: 40-60 hours (dependent on operational and client requirements)

SALARY: Salary around £35,000

CLOSING DATE: 16th June 2025

A vacancy has arisen for a Plant Operative to join our Coke Handling contract at Killingholme.

The purpose of this role is to carry out key operations on and around the Refinery, operating different mobile plant as required.

Key duties include:

1. Operating Loading Shovels, dumpers, and 360° excavators
2. Maintaining all coke is stowed and identified as requested by the client
3. Participating in shift working rotas to fit the Refinery requirements
4. Loading and unloading inbound and outbound HGVs
5. Demonstrating good flexibility and punctuality
6. Promoting HIS core safety values
7. Completing paperwork accurately
8. Carrying out inspections and audits
9. Joining team briefings and safety meetings
10. Maintaining good housekeeping
11. Working closely with all areas to implement policies and strategies to achieve business objectives

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

1. Full UK Driving Licence
2. FEL & FLT Licence; Dump truck and 360° advantageous but training can be provided
3. Health and Safety experience preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate
4. Experience with mobile plant
5. Highly motivated and eager to learn new skills
6. Excellent paperwork and documentation skills
7. Reliable and flexible
8. Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing circumstances
9. Good attitude, polite, and a good communicator
10. A team player who can work independently as well
