Come and join our friendly Operations Team in Dumfries where we have a warm and welcoming culture! We have open positions available on our Backshift Team, this is a Full Time position working 35 hours per week.
The position of Operations Assistant covers all jobs and work in the warehouse relating to the receipt, locating, replenishing, counting, picking, checking, packing and dispatch of goods and setting up of new products. The accurate and timely processing of customer sales orders and returns. Investigating any variances where necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:As an Operations Assistant at Covetrus you have the opportunity to become multiskilled in a variety of different departments. As such you might be asked to work in any part of our different operations departments and duties could include the below:
- Replenishment
- Unpack, check and put received goods to correct warehouse locations
- Complete stock replenishment. Ensure accurate and timely stock movement reporting to maintain the highest possible levels of location accuracy.
- Undertake stock counts
- Potentially use the Forklift and Bendi machinery when required (training will be provided)
- Manual handling – work within warehouse environment lifting, moving, carrying and transporting pallets/boxes of goods using pallet trucks. Work at height on the internal equipment we have (i.e. high order pickers, wave machines).
- To maintain the highest standards of Housekeeping by adhering to cleaning plans.
- To fully comply with all Health and Safety requirements and instruction given.
- Select goods for customer sales orders from their designated 'Fixed' stock locations. Securely pack sales orders in appropriate transit packaging & attach the customer's address label.
- Quality Assistance checks on picked orders
- Great communication skills
- The ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
- The ability to work overtime when required is essential.
- Experience working within a warehouse environment and the normal processes involved within this would be desirable
- Good attention to detail
- Education - Basic literacy and numeracy are essential for covering the core duties of the role.
- Specialised Knowledge and Skills: Basic level of computer literacy.
