The Role: The role is in the Accounting Technical Advisory team, within Investment Accounting Services. The team oversees and manages third-party suppliers related to fund accounting, including net asset values, financial reporting, and regulatory disclosures for M&G’s UK, Luxembourg, and Irish UCITs and AIFs. These funds are sold and invested globally across various asset classes. The role provides technical and accounting advice for M&G’s funds and jurisdictions, supporting fund-related change activities and acting as an SME in fund accounting. It particularly focuses on private markets, involving fund launches, closures, mergers, and complex transactions. Key Responsibilities Include: Providing fund accounting technical expertise, especially for private and alternative assets. Preparing accounting papers for complex transactions or new asset classes. Providing technical advice on NAV oversight, financial reporting, and regulatory disclosures. Assessing impacts of regulatory and standard changes on NAV, reporting, and disclosures. Supporting change initiatives such as: Fund and share class launches Fund mergers and closures New instruments and markets Regulatory changes including costs and charges The ideal candidate will have experience in: Fund accounting, NAV production, pricing, and financial reporting. Regulatory knowledge across UK, Luxembourg, Ireland, and other jurisdictions. Product knowledge of UCITs and AIFs. Accounting policies including UK, Lux, and IFRS. Instrument knowledge including equity, debt, derivatives. Fund costs, charges, and regulatory templates. Fund set-ups and project work. Key Skills and Experience Required: Fund accounting experience with a focus on private and alternative assets. Experience in fund set-ups and project accounting. Exposure to private and alternative fund structures. Technical knowledge of Lux GAAP, IFRS, UK FRS102. Attention to detail and self-motivation. Effective communication skills. Proactive and flexible approach. Experience with NAV calculations. Strong analytical skills. Proficiency in Excel (advanced level preferred).
