We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Import/Export Operator to join a busy freight forwarding team, specialising in deep sea operations. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years' UK experience in the industry who's ready to take on more responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities of an Import/Export Operator:
- Manage deep sea import and export shipments from booking to final delivery.
- Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, clients, and overseas agents to ensure efficient movement of cargo.
- Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation in line with current regulations.
- Use industry systems such as CNS and Destin8 for cargo tracking, clearance, and terminal coordination.
- Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to clients.
- Maintain accurate data and ensure all files are compliant and complete.
- Support with customs entries and general freight forwarding admin where required.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience in UK freight forwarding, handling deep sea import/export shipments.
- Working knowledge of CNS, Destin8, and standard shipping documentation.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
