The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Associate Counsel to join our fast-paced, customer-centric legal team to support our internal business partners. Fluency in English and Spanish required. In this role, you will:
- Review and negotiate a range of vendor contracts and provide related legal support to internal business partners in a decentralized procurement environment. Contracts include complex technology agreements, copyright license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, media and advertising agreements, event venue agreements, software license agreements, consulting agreements, and leases.
- Assist in maintaining a vendor contract database and perform other legal operations functions.
- Assist in developing processes, templates, playbooks, and self-service contracts tools as Veeva continues to grow.

What You'll Do
- Review, redline, and negotiate vendor contracts.
- Respond to contract review requests, consulting directly with internal business partners to define contract requirements, verify details, and provide advice as needed.
- Respond to inquiries regarding internal procurement processes and contract interpretation.
- Use an electronic signing platform to send contracts for signature and file signed contracts in a contracts database.
- Work with team, internal clients, and other stakeholders to define requirements for purchasing agreements and develop playbooks, templates, and other resources.
- Coordinate with the finance team and other stakeholders.
- Other ad hoc special assignments.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law.
- 1+ years of transactional experience reviewing, redlining, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely in English and Spanish.
- Strong aptitude towards drafting accurate documents, emails, and written materials, while still being concise and digestible for non-lawyers.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Competency in privacy law.
- Self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and produce high-quality work.
- Advanced proficiency using MS Word, including document editing, redlining, and comparison functions, as well as Adobe and G-Suite tools.
- Ability to bring positive energy and a high-quality customer service approach to responsibilities.
Nice to Have
- Competency in Portuguese, French, or German.
- Experience with financial services agreements (audit/tax), marketing agreements, and insurance policies/insurance terms in commercial contracts.
