Associate Director, Interior Design (12-Month FTC)
Location : London
Working Type : Hybrid
Salary : Up to £60,000 per annum
Contract Type : 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Software : Knowledge of Revit/Rhino would be helpful
We’re partnering with a globally recognised design studio to find an exceptional Associate Director, Interior Design, to join their London team on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving design quality, inspiring creativity across the studio, and overseeing the delivery of projects at scale – all while fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking team culture.
You’ll be at the helm of the creative process, working with minimal supervision and ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and above expectation. You’ll also play a hands-on role in mentoring junior designers and contributing to new business development across existing and emerging sectors.
About the Role:
- Deliver standout creative across medium to large-scale interior design projects.
- Lead the conceptual and design development process, encouraging bold and original thinking.
- Present compelling design narratives to clients.
Project Oversight
- Own the successful delivery of projects, maintaining oversight from inception to completion.
- Delegate third-party coordination while remaining the senior point of contact.
Team Management
- Foster a positive, values-driven team culture.
- Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth.
- Provide clear feedback and performance reviews.
Client Development
- Nurture existing client relationships and seek out new opportunities.
- Attend events and industry forums to support business development.
- Assist in bid writing, proposals, and fee negotiations.
- Understand and manage project financials with attention to resourcing and profitability.
About You:
- A strong creative vision and portfolio of large-scale, high-quality design projects.
- Confident client presenter and relationship builder, with a flair for unlocking new opportunities.
- Commercially minded, with solid experience in project resourcing and financial awareness.
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills, able to manage teams, encourage innovation, and drive performance.
- Skilled in relevant design software and tools.
- Degree-qualified in interior design or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
