My client is looking for an assistant editor to join the team that produces its suite of RadCom publications and manages its news desk. The successful candidate will be involved in magazine production, sub-editing, writing articles, and planning content. You will be a core part of the editorial team, working closely with (and being managed by) the RadCom Managing Editor.

What will you be doing in the role?

  • Commission articles and liaise with authors
  • Sub-edit copy from contributors and columnists
  • Guide content for RadCom Basics and RadCom Plus supplements
  • Contribute to a weekly news script
  • Assist with queries on technical and amateur radio licensing
  • Develop the RadCom portfolio, including new media opportunities

What we would like from you:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is highly desirable
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm for technology, excellent English skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of radio and electronics, including amateur radio, is desirable
