Who will I support? You will be supporting two gentlemen in their 30s at their home in Huntingdon. They enjoy a variety of activities including dancing and singing, Disney films, gardening, and people-watching.
In this role, you’ll take the initiative to encourage their independence while building a meaningful and supportive connection with them.
How will I make a difference? As a support worker you’ll be there to lend a helping hand in a way that puts the person’s needs first, this means:
- You will adapt your support to fit what each person needs and wants daily.
- You will encourage people to make their own choices, big and small.
- You will help people to do things themselves to be as independent as possible.
- You will support people to build confidence and life skills.
