The role of the HSE Manager is to provide essential leadership, knowledge, advice and support by promoting continuous improvement and safe working practices in accordance with defined business, legislative and contractual requirements. Manage and lead a team of HSE professionals as required by the organisational structure. Promote a positive HSE culture throughout all of the HPC related projects, legal entities and the supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to HSE commitments in highlighting and promoting best practice ensuring HSE Management System policies and procedures are implemented and utilised across all aspects of the HPC project work scopes.
- Monitoring and reviewing regular site performance through weekly inspections and audits, including assessments of suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements ensuring company policies and procedures are implemented appropriately, recording any findings, highlighting any areas for improvements.
- Agreeing remedial action with site management on any non-conformance and carrying out follow up review to ensure the appropriate implementation has taken place.
- Preparing and delivering reports on project HSE performance targets / KPI's in line with business, client and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Delivering proactive advice and guidance on site to ensure HSE processes are followed and key behaviours are embedded across the project work packages.
- Identifying any relevant HSE related training requirements to ensure compliance on site, preparing, and delivering training as required.
- Managing the application of effective incident preparedness, response, reporting, investigation and follow-up to ensure root causes are established and appropriate actions are identified and closed out.
- Managing and implementing a suitable Emergency Preparedness procedure and ensuring the exercise plan is maintained.
- Assisting in the creation of a HSE annual strategy, updating where required in line with the risk profile and monitoring its delivery.
- Preparing, modifying, owning and updating allocated HSE procedures and plans.
