Research Fellow in Immunity in Alzheimer’s Disease, London About the role We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate how Alzheimer’s disease (AD) risk genes influence microglial function. The project focuses on microglia\’s role in amyloid pathology and MHC-II–mediated immune responses in the brain. You will utilize various techniques, including our unique human microglia xenograft model, and collaborate with teams at the Francis Crick Institute and VIB, Leuven. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research in a collaborative environment. The role is available from 01 September and is funded until 31 March by the Medical Research Council. About you You should have a PhD in Immunology, Neuroscience, or a related field, with experience in macrophage/microglia biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or immunology. Proficiency in cell culture and related techniques is essential, along with a strong understanding of immunology and antigen presentation. Experience with animal experiments, especially involving mice, is also required. This role qualifies for a skilled worker visa or global talent visa. What we offer The appointment as Research Fellow depends on PhD completion; otherwise, an initial role as Research Assistant (£38,000 – £41,000 per annum) applies, with backdating upon PhD completion.
