Bookkeeper

We are looking for aBookkeeper to join an established firm of Chartered Accountants providing a range of accountancy and tax services for both businesses and individuals.

The working hours are 9am – 5pm, Mon-Fri (40hrs per week).

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping roleand accounting software e.g. Xero, Quickbooks or Sage etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements on relevant accounting software (Xero, QB, Sage etc.)
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
• Prepare and file VAT returns
• Provide support to our team of accountants, as needed
• Ensure compliance with UK accounting regulations and legislation
• Maintain confidential financial information
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients

Qualifications And Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting regulations and legislation
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Demonstrable experience of accounting software (Xero, QB, Sage etc.)
• AAT or equivalent qualification is a plus.
