The Role of the Senior Structural Design Engineer:
- Deliver high-quality structural designs for steel frameworks and complex connections
- Conduct manual and software-based calculations to British and Eurocode standards
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients throughout project lifecycles
- Maintain effective client relationships to support repeat business and referrals
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Attend design meetings and contribute to technical discussions
About You:
- Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (ideally working toward Chartered status)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in UK-based structural steel design
- Proven experience in steelwork frame and connection design
- Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer, Masterseries, S-Frame, IDEA StatiCa
- Strong knowledge of British and European design standards
- Confident producing both manual and software-based calculations
- Experience in temporary works design (desirable)
- Previous experience with a UK-based steelwork fabricator (essential)
