Stoke Hospital Sterile Services Unit (ST5 7UF) | Permanent | Full Time

Up to £24,359.38 per annum, depending on experience

37.5 hours a week on a rotational week to week pattern

Monday to Friday 06:00am - 14:00pm & 12:00pm - 20:00pm

As a Decontamination Process Technician at our Stoke HSSU, you will learn how to dismantle, prepare, and sterilise re-usable medical instruments ready for our patients in our Nuffield Hospitals.

You will need to be organised with good communication skills – and ideally, you’re able to show evidence of sterile services training; however, this is not essential, full training will be provided.

As a Decontamination Process Technician, you will:

  • Dismantle, prepare and sterilise medical instruments ready for theatre surgery
  • Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard
  • Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order
  • Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults
  • Work with a strong friendly team
  • Take on training as required
  • Be computer literate
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Take action to resolve any problems
  • Escalate issues where necessary
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures
  • Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg
  • Have strong attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service
