OXBO are delighted to be working with an international Solar IPP to add a Grid Connections Manager to their development team. As a company they have over 500MW of projects that are well progressed, either in planning or soon to be submitted, and they are looking to originate further projects.

The Role

  • In the role you will be responsible for both looking after the company's existing grid connection offers, and looking to bring them forwards where possible. In addition you will also be submitting new applications.
  • Advise and support the team on a grid-led approach to site finding with a view to identifying available capacity, points of connection and optimising grid connection solutions for projects.
  • Assess early-stage project opportunities through feasibility studies, liaising with network operators and working with third party consultants, where required.
  • Prepare and manage DNO and TNO grid connection applications (G99), offers and agreements.
  • Interpret and advise the team on connection offers and identify project risks from a technical and commercial perspective.
  • Contract and relationship management for development schemes including moving sites through the BEGA/BELLA and ModApp process, reporting on milestones and managing and communicating development risk to the team.
  • Provide electrical engineering advice at the design, procurement and construction stages of project delivery.
  • Advise on regulatory changes and future network development by liaising with network operators, REGEN, SEUK and OFGEM, to support and inform the activities of the development team.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the workings of DNOs, TSOs, iDNOs & ICPs as they relate to energy developments project.
  • Experienced with initiating contact and building relationships with the DNOs, TSOs, iDNOs & ICPs to drive projects forward.
  • Knowledge and keeping up to date of grid upgrades and reinforcements projects that present development opportunities.
  • Background in energy project development and particularly the project development process to pre-construction.
  • Ability to identify grid capacity, create required technical documentation for successful applications.
  • Desire to take ownership of individual projects and be judged on the projects’ success.
  • Interest in renewables development with an existing network within the industry.
