Role: Support Worker Salary: £13 per hour Location: DN6, Doncaster Job Type: Full Time (must be able to work minimum of 36 hours per week) Shifts on offer*: Monday to Sundays: Days 7am – 7pm/ Nights 7pm – 7am *Shifts Times are set times, but Monday to Sunday flexibility on offer depending on availability. Drivers Required with a Full UK Driving License About the Role Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for a Support Worker within the Doncaster area who can support alongside a male service user, who's in his mid 30s, who has Autism, Schizophrenia and extreme Challenging Behaviours. Our Support Worker roles are considered more of a companionship role by building up key relationships and promoting independence through daily tasks for our service user within her own home and especially within the community. Our Service User is supported on a 4:1 basis, which activities will be based around what he enjoys doing, such as going for long drives and walks, bowling and more, but most importantly, suggesting new ideas and opportunities that serve the service users' best interests, by going above and beyond. At times he will display behaviours that challenge and requires staff to support him to self-regulate. You will need to communicate with him effectively and appropriately. You will also be given the opportunity to build a positive relationship with the Service User and his family. We are looking for someone who is resilient, strong minded, but also outgoing, and is willing to brace challenges. What are the Benefits? Theoretical and Practical training is provided. Career Development oppurtunities to Team Leader or House Manager Ongoing Support form our Office Team and Registered Manager Weekly pay via PAYE or Umbrella scheme. DBS application registered with Sugarman Health and Wellbeing Requirements for the role A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience Experience with Autism and Challenging Behaviour Provide correct compliance documents, updated right to work and original DBS certificate. Able to attend Safety Intervention training which is provided by Sugarman Health and Wellbeing.
