We are currently hiring Steel Fabricators for an industry leader in the Building Services sector, specialising in the manufacture of offsite-prefabricated building service solutions for projects throughout the UK & Europe.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-17:00 Friday 07:00-16:00 (44 hours)
Job Summary
To fabricate a range of pipe arrangements through the use of a variety of welds, i.e., TIG, MMA and MAG.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
* Fabricate and weld pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel ranging from 65mm – 150mm) from shop drawings.
* Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
* Complete Cross Training in various welding activities.
* Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
* To operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment.
* Use precision measurement instruments and metal cutting and grinding equipment.
* Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
* Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
Requirements:
Essential:
* Experience working as a fabricator welder in Pipe Fabrication and Welding.
* The ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
* Able to use Shop floor hand tools.
* Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings
Desirable:
* Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements with either TIG/MAG and able to use MMA.
* Previous experience within a heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork or welding environment.
