The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
Initially a 12 month contract – likely to be extended for the right person. We are currently seeking to recruit a Machining Technician to support our current programs, contributing toward continued growth and market leadership in compact Diesel engines.
What will you do:
- The successful candidate will be working within the Research & Development Department to carry out a variety of machining/fabrication tasks to support our current and new programs, working to very tight deadlines.
- This will involve reading and interpreting engineering drawings and following engineers’ instructions using a variety of machinery (CNC and conventional) to produce the parts.
- The opportunity to work at a higher level, coordinating work and area activities is possible if candidates have previous experience.
What skills and experience you need:
- Previous experience operating conventional Lathes, Milling machines, Grinding, Boring machines and/or CNC programming/operating.
- Previous experience in using measuring equipment, including vernier callipers, depth and thread gauges to name a few.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Applicants must be self-motivated with good team working skills and be willing to work shifts if needed (Currently no shift work in the area).
- Initiative, problem solving and positive attitude to change are also essential.
Desirable Skills:
- Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Machining or equivalent qualifications.
- Previous experience at work coordinating or Leadership Experience.
- Previous experience using Mazak 5 axis Mazatrol smooth X control, Feature Cam.
- Previous experience using Haas ST 10 Fanuc control.
