We currently offer an exciting opportunity in our Rigging department, located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are seeking Riggers. The working hours are 06:00 – 14:45.

Journeyperson 4 (Rigging)
- Fabricates, installs, and repairs rigging and weight handling gear on ships.
- Attaches hoists and pulling gear to lift, move, remove, install, or position machinery, equipment, structural parts, and heavy loads aboard ships.
- Selects and attaches chainfalls, jacks, rollers, levers, and pulleys based on load types.
- Signals cranes or other equipment to move loads.
- Controls movement of heavy equipment in confined spaces.
- Lays out lines on cleats or bollards and assists in ship dry docking operations.
- Installs or repairs ships\’ rigging such as masts, antenna wires, small boat handling gear, cranes, winches, windlasses, and other equipment.
- Moves barges and derricks with tugboats and yard boats.
- Works in engine rooms, boiler rooms, aloft, or confined spaces as required.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of shackles, ropes, jacks, hydraulic tools, and shipboard equipment.
- Performs splicing, knot tying, and uses electric, pneumatic, and hand tools.
- Follows OSHA standards.
Journeyperson 3 (Rigging)
- Attaches hoists and pulling gear for lifting and moving loads.
- Signals and controls load movements in tight spaces.
- Assists in ship dry docking operations and moves barges with tugboats.
- Works in various ship areas and understands OSHA standards.
Journeyperson 2 (Rigging)
- Performs similar rigging tasks with a focus on operational control and safety standards.
- Operates forklifts and aerial lifts.
Journeyperson 1 (Rigging)
- Assists in rigging operations, line handling, and staging tasks.
- Works in diverse ship environments and handles ropes and tools.
