We are looking for a Legal Cashier to join our Finance Team. Working as part of a team of 8, you will maintain accurate and timely financial ledgers by providing compliant and effective cashiering duties in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
- Compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules
- Processing office and client account receipts promptly and accurately on 3E, with appropriate narratives and within specified timeframes
- Reporting and seeking approval for unpaid disbursements, ensuring proper payment or transfer to client accounts
- Handling inter-account transfers on 3E and HSBC.net
- Reporting breaches to the Accounts Manager
Banking
- Undertaking daily banking, reconciliation, and electronic payment processing
- Controlling deposit accounts via HSBC VAM system
Cashiering
- Processing electronic payments and cheque requests accurately
- Carrying out daily bank reconciliations and investigating errors
- Calculating and posting interest on client ledgers
- Verifying and processing disbursements in compliance with VAT rules
- Adhering to the firm’s Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Other duties
- Managing petty cash and reconciling related accounts
- Handling queries from staff, clients, and banks
- Maintaining suspense account ledgers and ensuring prompt return of unclaimed monies
- Participating flexibly in team duties and administrative tasks
This role requires compliance with information security and all firm policies. To be successful, you should be approachable, proactive, professional, adaptable, and flexible. Previous experience in legal cashiering or a similar role, with knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, is essential. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Elite Enterprise or similar systems, and online banking, are required. Strong communication skills and a minimum of 6 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths, are also necessary.
