Job Description

We are looking for a Data Architect to set the vision for the organisation’s use of customer data, through data design, to meet business needs. You should know how to analyze and profile data sources, model data at destinations (warehouses and others), define system requirements, and implement migration methods for existing data. Hands-on experience with SQL and PL/SQL is essential, as we use Oracle and other storage systems. Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) is preferred. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), AWS basics, and Python is desirable. Ultimately, you will develop and maintain data models representing business entities, store them securely, and ensure data benefits stakeholders.

The Data Architect is part of the Data Engineering team, collaborating with various functions like Technical Operations, Customer Experience, and more, in a global business environment. This role requires agility, audacity, and dedication to ensure the right data architecture supports research goals efficiently.

  • Continuously improve Data & Analytics services and capabilities
  • Work within Data Engineering to provide high-quality, timely data to stakeholders
  • Identify and profile data sources, support data extraction, integration, and create data mappings
  • Model data at source and destination, support enterprise data models, and make data understandable for stakeholders
  • Support data transformations and manage changes with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Data Governance for data ownership and security
  • Design access controls and ensure data security and compliance
  • Analyze requirements for new software and applications
  • Support data migrations from legacy systems
  • Optimize system performance and database systems
  • Define security and backup procedures
  • Work with architecture to build a comprehensive view of the enterprise environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Deep understanding of database structures
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Expertise in SQL and Oracle
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
